Although nearly as many People Die from Drug Addiction in one Year, as Those who Died in the Vietnam War, Trump is not Concerned

drugs

This story is about another Trump promise and another Trump lie. We’re so used to his lying about everything we seldom pay attention any longer. The opioid epidemic is America’s greatest health problem.

58,220 deaths were recorded during the war in South Vietnam. In 2016, 64,070 Americans died from a drug overdose. The base cause for most of these deaths is the use of opioids. Doctors have freely prescribed these painkillers without understanding the addictive qualities of seemingly harmless pills whose promises are deceptive.

When the pills became unavailable and the cost rose dramatically, many opioid users turned to heroin, which was easily obtained and much less costly.

Trump promised to make this tragedy a priority if he was elected. His useless wall has once again taken precedence and he is ignoring the crisis. He did not give the responsibility for solving the problem to a specialist who deals with drug addiction, or a noted physician who is experienced in similar problems, he gave it to his spin doctor, Kellyanne Conway. I’m not making this shit up.

Trump is not serious about being the president. He is using his position to increase his personal wealth. This is all a game, and he is making fools of his party and his supporters. Nothing positive will ever be accomplished by this immoral and unprincipled man.

Trump is accepting the deaths of more than 60,000 Americans each year. They don’t matter to him. It is likely that none of them are millionaires or billionaires and many of them are not white.

We deserve a president. A man or woman who is dedicated to all 320 million Americans should be sitting behind the desk in the Oval Office. We do not deserve the most hated man in the world.
