How the NRA Uses Tragedy to Tell Lies About Gun Control

LaPierre

The NRA gun lobby has a magazine. At one time it was informative, containing articles about hunting, target shooting, and gun safety. Today it is a political rag, which attempts to protect the bloated profits of gun manufacturers and gun sellers.

The biggest lie which comes from the NRA is that liberals want to revoke the second amendment and take away guns from law-abiding citizens. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Liberals actually believe in the Constitution; they are not like their conservative counterparts who talk about it, but don’t actually believe in the Law of the Land.

The featured article in the recent NRA magazine is an enormous lie; possibly the biggest the lobby has ever told. It is a wretched attempt to use loss of human life to promote gun sales.

“NRA Magazine: Gunned-Down Dallas Police Officers ‘Gave Their Lives’ For Gun Rights.”

The above is the title of the article. It is both misleading and a lie. The brave police officers in Dallas gave their lives to protect innocent citizens; they were doing their jobs. Law enforcement and the military all agree that military style weapons; assault rifles; should not be available to average citizens. The coward who ambushed the officers in Dallas used just such a weapon which he legally purchased.

I’m certain that most, or all, of the officers who died in Dallas believed in gun rights; but the well-informed and compassionate men believed in sensible gun laws to protect innocent citizens.

When did it become normal for the right wing to ignore the truth and accept lies as fact? From the party’s standard bearer, to the NRA rag, facts are of no importance. Sadly, Republican voters accept these lies without question. They are uninformed, and apparently prefer to live that way.

After reading blogs, and online newspapers from around the world, I believe that the American people are the least informed in the world. Part of this fact is because our media fails us. All major networks have copied the success of FOX Noise, which has but a single goal; ratings. Facts and the truth are of no importance, money trumps reality.
