January 6, 2021 was a Failed Coup: Period

The irrefutable truth: the events of January 6, 2021 were a planned coup attempt by Trump and his supporters designed to overturn our 2020 democratic election by preventing the certification of the Electoral College vote. Not a single word of this statement is untrue.

However, Trump and his fascist “people” continue to make baseless claims that there was massive fraud in what his own appointee called “the most secure election in history.” These lies have resulted in a second Civil War. Our country is divided and it is doubtful that this deep cut in nation’s very soul will ever heal until all of Trump’s supporters are buried deep in the ground and in the deep, dark recesses of our memory. Fascism is difficult to kill, but it will happen if the United States is to survive.

History will remember the failure of today’s Republican Party in name only to prevent our nation’s biggest mistake from happening. He is a more serious and harmful villain than Covid-19.

One of Trump’s most loyal a**holes is House Minority Leader, Kevin McCarthy. On January 20, 2017, he abandoned his country to serve Trump. Every day he remains in office, he violates his oath of office, and is therefore a traitor.

Last week McCarthy made a purely fallacious claim that “the FBI and ‘several government agencies’ completed an investigation into the events on January 6th, and came to the conclusion that Trump had no involvement in the insurrection. His own constituents called this statement, “baseless,” and without merit.

[Rep. Bennie Thompson of Mississippi, and vice chair, Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming, blasted McCarthy’s claim as “baseless.” McCarthy, they said, made the claim based on an anonymous report that had no merit.

“When this anonymous report was first published, the Select Committee queried the Executive Branch agencies and congressional committees involved in the investigation,” said Thompson and Cheney. “We’ve received answers and briefings from the relevant entities, and it’s been made clear to us that reports of such a conclusion are baseless.”

The statement also noted that McCarthy’s remarks from the House floor on Jan. 13 about the insurrection were entirely “inconsistent” with his latest claim.

“The president bears responsibility for Wednesday’s attack on Congress by mob rioters,” McCarthy had said on the House floor. “He should have immediately denounced the mob when he saw what was unfolding. These facts require immediate action by President Trump.”]

But McCarthy was lying back then. Records show that he and Trump engaged in at least one phone call during the rampage occurring in the Capitol Building.

McCarthy has proven himself to be one of the worst members of congress in history. His failure to serve the men and women who elected him prove that he is unfit for the office he now holds.
