Most American Voters Display an Alarming Level of Ignorance

I’m no longer going to be “politically correct” about the truth. I’s not easy for me to say this, but after what happened to my country in 2016, I can no longer hold back the complete truth. Most American voters choose to be uninformed, and when they vote, they display a dangerous level of ignorance. If any man or woman cast their ballots for Trump, they inadvertently committed a hate crime.

I read a headline from the Los Angeles Times today which is typical of what is wrong with America today. It proclaimed that “Joe Biden is More Likable than Clinton.” There was no mention of qualifications, competence, or devotion to his country, which are all that matter.

This reminds me of the 2000 election. There was no doubt among intelligent voters that Al Gore was the right man for the job. However, a comment by one wealthy Texan while I was at work one evening scared me. “Bush is the kind of guy I’d like to have a beer with.” He’s not the kind of ‘guy’ I wanted to see as the leader of my country. Only exceptional men and women should sit behind the Resolute Desk.

It’s true that Al Gore was not Bill Clinton. His personality was dull. However, his intelligence and qualifications for the presidency were impeccable.

The same was true in 2016. Hillary Clinton was the most qualified candidate in history; Trump the least. However, Trump’s angry speech, and “third-grade level” use of the English language impressed less-informed Americans and voters who shared Trump’s racist and dark views of our nation.

The 2016 campaign was never about the issues, and for that I blame the media. They chose to cover Trump’s embarrassing rallies incessantly. When he or his cronies were interviewed by networks other than his supporter, Fox News, they were allowed to maneuver the discussion from direct questions to attacks on Hillary Clinton. Fox “soft-balled” Trump and his cronies consistently. The fact that Trump received five-times more coverage than all other candidates combined is an injustice to an already uninformed electorate. These facts, combined with Russian interference on social media gave Trump the Electoral College. You will never hear these irrefutable facts from the mainstream media.

Trump has proven that this election is the most important in history. Never again will a man as immoral and dangerous be allowed to claim the title of President of the United States. The world knows the real Donald Trump today. His lack of intelligence, mental incompetence, and unwillingness to perform the job for which he was elected prevent him from remaining in the White House.

Finally, I had to laugh at a campaign ad from Trump’s reelection team I heard today. First, in Trump “style” it fallaciously attacked Joe Biden. The second part was equally predictable, it made claims about the economy which were not factual. Trump did not create jobs, nor did he improve our nation’s economy. Everything positive began under President Obama’s administration. Because of Trump’s rash and ill-advised decision to begin a trade war with China, 300,000 jobs were lost. His decision to reduce taxes for the one-percent and corporations allowed major companies including Walmart and Amazon to pay zero taxes in 2019. What did occur was an increase of one-trillion dollars to the national debt, and this situation will continue through 2025. He has bankrupted America. There were no complaints from the fake “conservatives” in the fake Republican Party.

I would expect nothing less than lies from the right-wing. It’s the only way they can survive.
