“The Collaborators”

The word ‘collaborator’ has two meanings. One relates to the joint effort of two or more individuals to create a song, a novel, or another positive creation. The other is someone who aids and abets the enemy. The latter describes today’s Republican Party in name only.

The men and women who call themselves ‘Republicans’ today surrendered their principles, morals, and self-respect to the worst man in the world more than three years ago. By refusing to place their country before their party, they are collaborators serving Trump and enemies of the American people.

How can they justify their decision to allow one man to constantly violate the Constitution and set policies which are harmful to the future of our country and the welfare of 320 million people?

Trump and Moscow Mitch

Moscow Mitch McConnell, John Cornyn, Chuck Grassley, Susan Collins, Kevin McCarthy, and others were adamantly opposed to a potential Trump presidency during the 2016 campaign; until he won the Electoral College on November 8, 2016. Today they have all chosen to be collaborators with the fascist in the White House.

One of the biggest hypocrites over the last few years is South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham. In 2015, after Trump said that his close friend, John McCain “was not a war hero,” Graham called Trump a “jackass.”

In 2015 when Trump called for a Muslim ban from entering the United States. “He’s a race-baiting, xenophobic, religious bigot … He doesn’t represent my [Republican] party … I don’t think he has a clue about anything … He is empowering radical Islam … You know how you make America great again? Tell Donald Trump to go to hell.” Graham additionally said: “I’d rather lose without Donald Trump than try to win with him.”

In 2016, when Trump called a Mexican judge ‘biased’ after a decision involving the fraud he called “Trump University:”  “I don’t think [Trump is] racist but he’s playing the race card … I think it’s very un-American … If he continues this line of attack then I think people really need to reconsider the future of the [Republican] party.” Graham told The New York Times that this incident “is probably it” for anyone looking to withdraw their support of Trump: “There’ll come a time when the love of country will trump hatred of Hillary” Clinton, then the rival presidential candidate to Trump.

Before the 2016 presidential election, Graham had said: “If we nominate Trump we [the Republican Party] will get destroyed … and we will deserve it.”

Today Graham is one of Trump’s most avid supporters, although everything he previously stated about the orange buffoon was accurate.

Most significantly, Trump has destroyed the Republican Party and Graham and his constituents have allowed this to happen. The once Grand Old Party no longer exists. The men and women in today’s “Trump Party” decided to shun the principles and ideals of their predecessors in 2017.

Maybe I’ll write my first non-fiction book; I already have the title: “The Collaborators.”

My revelation of Lindsey Graham could be repeated with the use of other names who are now in the House and Senate, including Moscow Mitch, the Senate Majority Leader. It’s time for them to go. We can replace them with younger, patriotic men and women who will serve all Americans.

Trump’s presidency is based on lies and continues to survive with a barrage of falsehoods. Voting for Republicans is insanity: “doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”
