If You Are one of the 99 Percent Trump is not Your President

Capitalism (2)

Trump is the rich man’s president. Anyone who denies this fact is lying to themselves and the American people. His failed tariffs and his misnamed “tax reform” are both gifts to the wealthy. Even now as 330 million American face the threat of a pandemic, he is more concerned with economics than the virus itself and its danger to human life.

On Wednesday Trump wasted more of my time announcing measures which have already been implemented by most of our nation’s governors. After his failed administration rambled on and on about virtually nothing, he took some questions from the press.

One reporter asked if the wealthy would be tested first as thousands of Americans have already been turned away from testing facilities. Part of the truth is the fact that his administration was woefully unprepared. After the first announcement, it was revealed that only 25,000 tests were available.

Trump’s answer was almost honest: almost.

“No, I wouldn’t say so, but perhaps that’s been the story of life. That does happen on occasion.” In 21st century America the wealthy receive priority concerns. Right-wing extremists have altered our democracy into a plutocracy. If you have learned anything from history, a plutocracy can only exist if fascism is in control of the government.

Once again, let me state a fact: Trump is not an American president. He serves less than ten percent of all Americans. Polls and statistics prove that Trump and his circle of sinners have no interest in the needs and wishes of the majority.

Since Trump’s illegitimate election the numbers of the super-rich have grown. In 2017 there were 545 billionaires and 10.1 million millionaires in the United States. Today, just 38 months later, there are 706 billionaires and 18.6 million millionaires.

This begins with the primary reason our national debt is growing at an alarming rate. The middle class is carrying the tax burden for the entire nation. Nearly one-half of our nation’s people are considered low-income or impoverished. With very few exceptions none of these Americans pay taxes. Thanks to Trump’s decision to give additional tax breaks to the super-rich and huge breaks to corporations, in 2019 Amazon and Wal Mart paid zero taxes, among others: adding 1.2 trillion dollars to the national debt.

The truth is that Trump’s personal spending combined with his wasteful agenda will bankrupt our nation if he is allowed to remain in the White House for eight years.

I am not only disgusted with Trump’s illegitimate presidency, I am afraid for my children, grandchildren, and my country. A man who has proven himself to be mentally incompetent is destroying our nation’s future piece by piece. Even more upsetting is the fact that one entire political party is bowing to America’s fuhrer. Real Americans would remove Trump from office by any means. He is not an American, and by association this Republican Party in name only cannot claim to be members of America’s government.

Time for real change.
