Trump is not “different” or “unusual;” Trump is an insult to the 44 men who preceded him; he is not and never will be “presidential.” First of all, he is useless. When he’s not partying at Mar-a-Lago, golfing at one of his resorts, holding hate rallies, or watching Fox News in the White House, he’s tweeting attacks on the millions of men and women who are critical of his vile and destructive policies. His posted schedule of White House duties last Monday consisted of Lunch with Mike Pence and nothing else.
President Obama was one of the most eloquent men ever to serve as our president. Trump is the opposite. He is an embarrassment to the 44 men who preceded him. He makes George W. Bush look like William Jennings Bryant.
When he can be understood, every word which comes from his mouth is a lie. Trump is unable to tell the truth; he would be evicted from the White House in minutes after the people knew everything about our nation’s greatest failure.
When the man-child is accused of crimes and misdemeanors, he is unable to defend himself with facts. His only method of denial is to falsely accuse his adversaries. His childish, immature name-calling would embarrass any mature human being.
Reverend Rob Schenck is an evangelical minister and former activist for Operation Rescue and other national anti-abortion groups. He is president of The Dietrich Bonhoeffer Institute in Washington, D.C., and author of Costly Grace: An Evangelical Minister’s Rediscovery of Faith, Hope and Love.
30 years ago, Rev. Schenck regrets the fact that he incited his followers to embrace anger, hatred and violence. His hate speech inspired one of his followers to murder Dr. Barnett Slepian, a physician who performed legal abortions.
He is now criticizing Trump for inciting anger, hatred, and violence. His cult hears Trump’s rants at each hate rally held around the nation.
DJT is the reason hate crimes have increased more than 800 percent in America. This cowardly draft dodger is elated and his ego is pleased with every violent act committed in his name. His support for white supremacists, Islamophobes, and homophobes has emboldened the worst America has to offer to verbally and physically assault innocent Americans of all races and beliefs who are not white and claim to be Christians.
Rev. Schenck had this to say after the mass shooting in El Paso.
“President Donald Trump has called Mexicans rapists and killers. He’s warned that people coming across the southern border are ‘bringing drugs.’ He has claimed that Mexican officials are ‘cunning, and they send bad ones over because they don’t want to pay for them.’ And he has tweeted, ‘We cannot allow all of these people to invade our country.’ By saying these things, Trump dehumanizes and vilifies his subjects and leaves them fair game for a depraved mass shooter like the one in El Paso who killed 22 people, injured even more and traumatized an entire community.”
Trump will continue to be a cult leader until everyone realizes that everything he says is a lie. Vilifying an entire group of people fallaciously is pure racism and in itself a hate crime. His hatred for Hispanics and Muslims is reminiscent of the raving lunacy of Adolf Hitler in 1930’s Germany. Hitler’s control over his nation’s people was based on lies which resulted in anger, hatred, and violence against his targets; every Jewish man, woman, and child on the earth.
Trump and the Trump Party reject any comparison between Trump and Hitler. The truth is, there are many and entirely accurate. They shared a primary premise which has made fools of millions of Americans today; “tell a lie often enough and the people will eventually accept it as the truth.”
Trump must not be the only person punished for his crimes against America and humanity in general. With the exception of Mitt Romney, the recent impeachment trial proved once and for all that Republicans do not serve the American people or believe in their oath to “preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States of America.”
They must pay for their failures. We can vote against every man or woman who has an “R” next to his or her name on November 3rd. We can take our country back; it belongs to the people, not to a group of failed politicians.
