Retired General Heavily Criticizes Trump’s Secretary of Defense and Secretary of State

Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, and Secretary of Defense, Mark Esper graduated from West Point in 1986. Graduating from the United States Military Academy is a great accomplishment, but it’s what you do after such an achievement and the principles you retain that decides your legacy.

Retired General Paul Eaton, class of 1972, revealed his contempt for Pompeo and Esper.

Both Esper and Pompeo graduated from the US Military Academy at West Point in 1986 — a fact that was not lost on Eaton, who graduated from the college in 1972. Some graduates of the class of ’86 call themselves the “West Point Mafia” because of their senior positions in the Trump administration, according to Politico.

“What is wrong with West Point class of 86? Who mentored you?” Eaton added in his tweet. “What happened to the West Point Honor Code in your class? America is very badly served by these men.”

The truth is that anyone involved with Trump has earned a reputation as opportunists and men who have abandoned their morals and self-respect.

Multiple books have been written about the Trump White House. The ‘running theme’ describes a chaotic and disorganized work environment. This is the result of the man who sits behind the desk in the Oval Office who is mentally unbalanced and an egomaniac who refuses to seek the advice of his more qualified staff. Every decision he makes is rash and dangerous.

I have never made a great deal of money in my life. The primary reason is me. I have changed careers multiple times, and resigned from many jobs; primarily for a single reason. I lost respect for the company, my supervisors, or both. I find it impossible to work in a situation which does not inspire me and where I feel unappreciated.

Mick Mulvaney, Stephen Miller, William Barr, Mike Pompeo, Mark Esper, and many others are rightfully the butt of jokes and satire. These men are obviously unconcerned about their reputations and their legacy. Those of us who follow Trump’s pitiful life are convinced that we could never work for or be loyal to a man without morals, average intelligence, or compassion for others.

General Eaton summed up his opinions of Pompeo and Esper with a summation of the West Point code of ethics.

The military academy’s honor code, which reads, “A cadet will not lie, cheat, steal, or tolerate those who do,” is known as the “bedrock of character development” and drilled into the cadets during their four years of training.

Trump’s life has been built on lies. His complete lack of dignity and class is infamous. His inflated ego will not allow him to see the truth; that every time he speaks or tweets, he makes a complete fool of himself. His biography is a history of lying, cheating on his wives, and stealing by not paying his bills. Anyone who is proud of their West Point heritage could not serve the orange man-child.

Trump should be removed from office. However, today’s Republicans in name only lack the courage to do the right thing. Let’s correct this mistake.

Your vote on November 3rd can restore the America of our founding fathers to Washington. Republicans have chosen to become the enemy. We can defeat them.
