Trump loves to brag about the “greatest economy we’ve had in the history of our country.” This is a twofold lie. First of all, the positive aspects of America’s economy are the accomplishments of President Barrack Obama. Secondly, the economy is only great for America’s 704 billionaires and 18.6 million millionaires. For my wife and I, and most of 330 million hard-working Americans, it’s not so ‘great.’
Let’s begin with Trump’s efforts to praise himself for the growth of the stock market. The truth is that record market gains began under President Obama’s administration, and are continuing because of his policies. The market is only a way for the super-rich to measure their profits. The gap in income inequality continues to grow.
Trump’s misnamed “tax reform.” Three things happened after the Trump Party passed this tax bill. The wealthiest Americans received another tax cut. Corporate taxes were drastically reduced. And most importantly, the deficit has grown by more than one-trillion dollars in just three years. Trump’s administration is the most costly in American history. Trump is rewarding wealthy Americans for helping him win the Electoral College in 2016.
Don’t believe me? Prior to Trump’s illegitimate election, there were 545 billionaires and 10.1 million millionaires. As I told you before, those numbers are now 704 and 18.6. Who is Trump working for? Hint; it’s not you and it’s not me.
The economy is great for the rich. For most Americans the struggle continues. Tariffs have forced layoffs, farm foreclosures, and higher prices at retail outlets. Trump’s failed policies removed good paying jobs from America, including those newly created jobs in the area of ‘green energy.’ If the Trump Party continues to allow their fascist leader to maintain fiscal policies which failed past Republican presidents our nation will suffer another great depression. He is following the orders of his puppeteer, Vladimir Putin and completing the prophecy of a great President, Abraham Lincoln.
“America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.”
President Lincoln also said: “We the people are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution.”
