The one thing about Trump which pleases me is that we know who he is, what he is, and who he is not, and what he is not. We hear or read his daily lies. The world has learned that he is incompetent. The American people know that he has no morals. Trump’s own words and actions prove that he lacks average intelligence. Everyone questions his mental competency.
Then there’s Ted Cruz. Where do I begin? In 2013, his first year in the senate, he was voted the worst senator in Washington. It was Cruz who organized the government shutdown in that same year. He has no allies in the senior body of our government, and no friends. He remains the most hated man in our nation’s capital.
During the 2016 campaign Cruz proved that he was a loser. Trump crushed him in nearly every primary and name-called him and his family with regularity. In just weeks their campaigns rejected the discussion of all issues and focused on personal attacks. Trump won and Cruz was completely disgraced.
“Lyin Ted” was the least of Trump’s attacks. Cruz’ wife Heidi became another of Trump’s targets as he virtually called her “ugly.” Then he accused Cruz’ father, a Christian minister, of planning the assassination of John F. Kennedy with Lee Harvey Oswald.
After Trump received the Republican Party’s nomination Cruz bowed to Trump and couldn’t kiss his huge derriere quickly or often enough. He even campaigned for the worst candidate in history. He continues to kneel at his feet today.
“Here’s the ridiculous thing about the position of Senate Democrats,” the Texas Republican told NBC’s Chuck Todd on “Meet the Press” on Sunday morning. “This is not substantive. They voted for it before. [Minority Leader] Chuck Schumer and every single Democrat in the Senate in 2013 and voted for 350 miles of additional border fencing and border security. They have now shut the government down over 234 miles.
“So, I think an awful lot of people are asking, ‘Well, if you voted for 350 miles, why would you force a shutdown on 234?’” Cruz said. “That is not reasonable and the president remains willing to come together and compromise, but so far the Democrats don’t want to do that.”
Cruz then claimed that Democrats were to blame for the ‘shutdown’ and were holding 800,000 government workers “hostage.’ Wow! There are so many lies in this statement, it is revolting to have to point them out.
First, the polls show that most Americans blame Trump and his party for the shutdown. Not once have Democrats agreed to funding 2,000 miles of a 16th century wall. If 234 miles of a “wall” will cost Trump’s demand of 5.7 billion dollars, the math proves that the entire wall would cost nearly $500,000,000,000. This for a bunch of steel bars which can be cut with a common saw, (according to the DHS).
Democratic leaders have attended every meeting called by the White House, but when Trump walks out and refuses to honestly and diligently discuss the issues, Trump is to blame for everything wrong related to his shutdown.
There are many reasons I was disappointed in the ignorant voters of Texas; Beto O’Rourke would have represented them in Washington instead of spending all of his time kissing Trump’s a**. The main reason is that Cruz does not deserve a seat in Congress; he is unfit and unworthy.
