Corporate Tax Cuts, Tariffs, Corruption by the Trump Administration: The “Trump Effect”

capitalism (2)

“We will drain the swamp.” “I will end the trade deficit.” “I will be too busy making great deals to play golf.”

The former are just a few lies from your illegitimate president which continue to affect the future of our nation and the quality of life for our people.

In just 11 days we will mourn the second anniversary of Trump’s illegitimate inauguration. In those two years only a single positive accomplishment can be credited to Trump; a minimal criminal justice reform was passed with bipartisan support. His other “accomplishments” have added billions of dollars to the federal deficit and increased the trade deficit by at least seven percent. His administration is the most corrupt in history as they continue to spend taxpayer money for personal pleasure. Trump has wasted approximately $16 million per month golfing, partying at his millionaire’s only resorts, and holding hate rallies to soothe his fragile ego. Trump has not “drained the swamp,” he has created a slimy cesspool.

Early forecasts claim that Trump’s failed fiscal policies will add one-trillion dollars to the federal deficit in 2019.

Sorry, Republicans, but here are a few facts you won’t like.

According to ‘The Hill:’ “The country’s budget deficit in the first two months of fiscal 2019, which began Oct. 1, was 50 percent higher than in the same period the previous year, according to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), though the figure was inflated by timing.

“In October and November, the federal government spent $303 billion more than it took in, compared to $202 billion in the same period of fiscal 2018, according to the CBO.

“Tax revenues were just 3 percentage points higher than the previous year, largely because of the GOP tax law, while spending surged 18 percent.”

The bottom line for myself and others who struggled through their high school economics class is that our government is spending more money than it is receiving. The two primary culprits are reducing the corporate tax rate and giving additional tax cuts to one-percent of the wealthiest Americans.

Republicans blame the growing problem on social programs. The facts point to excessive waste, the failed “tax reform,” waste by the Pentagon, and Trump’s form of the failed fiscal policy of Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, and George W. Bush we call “trickle-down economics.” The “job creators” continue to hoard their fortunes and while wages in their companies remain virtually stagnant.

Republicans have a single motto and have for more than three decades; “profit before people.” America lags behind most other developed nations in income, education, healthcare, and quality of life. One-percent of all Americans control 90 percent of the wealth. 46 million Americans live below the poverty line, and another 100+ million are one paycheck away from joining them. The fact is that income-inequality is the primary reason democracy is a failing concept in America. Capitalism has failed, and failed miserably.

Time for change, and that day is closer than you think. On November 3, 2020 we can vote all Republicans out of office and take our country back; it’s ours, not theirs. They are public servants and if they do not represent us, they must go home.
