The “Pink Wave” on November 6th Removed a lot of Trash from Washington; but the Work is not Finished

Republicans (3)

As another year ends and I reflect on the past 364 days, my first reaction is to feel sad. I remember the entire year as a struggle against an illegitimate and failed president, with the single bright spot of the midterm elections when real Americans replaced Republicans in name only from Washington; draining a small portion of Trump’s cesspool.

I have always known that our government is one of the most corrupt in the world, but when I learned that Congress had a “slush fund,” paid for by taxpayers, to hush men and women who filed charges of sexual harassment and harassment in the work place, I wanted to regurgitate.

The incoming Congress will be more democratic, younger, and more female. Hope is alive.

Here are just a few of those who have been replaced by real Americans; they include governors, members of Trump’s circle of sinners, and Congressmen.

#1: Kris Kobach. Kobach is leaving his post as Kansas’ Secretary of State. He lost his bid for the governorship, and saved democracy and Constitutional rights for the people of Kansas and the people of our nation. His constant effort to repeal voting rights for minorities was anti-American, and unforgivable.

#2: Scott Walker was ousted as the Governor of Wisconsin; good riddance. He was the enemy of the working man and woman. His fight to destroy unions favored the wealthy and made life far less pleasant for everyone in his state. Fortunately, Republicans rejected his presidential bid, and only the people of Wisconsin were forced to endure his incompetence until now.

#3: Paul Ryan was exposed as both a hypocrite and incapable of governing. He chose not to seek reelection, fearing a loss in his home state of Wisconsin.

Gone, and hopefully forgotten, from Trump’s circle of sinners are some of the most corrupt men ever to waste taxpayer money for their own use in history. They include Health and Human Services Director, Tom Price. Price spent money and did nothing until he was forced to resign. Former Attorney General, Jeff Sessions was a well-known white supremacist who removed protections for the poor and minorities established by President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder. When he finally did the right thing, by recusing himself from the investigation into collusion in the 2016 election, Trump rejected him.

As head of the Environmental Protection Agency, not only did Scott Pruitt embezzle hundreds of thousands of dollars for his own personal use, he removed many of the environmental protections established over decades. He was literally in the pocket of the petroleum industry.

Ryan Zinke had the title of Secretary of the Interior. He did everything but protect our wilderness. He also embezzled money for his personal use, but also removed many protections for our national parks.

Here is a short list of Republican members of the House who bowed to Trump and harmed the American people; some names you might know.

Peter Roskam and Erik Paulsen, who were the authors of Trump’s gift to the wealthy and corporations they misnamed as “tax reform.”

Dana Rohrabacher was justifiably known as “Putin’s favorite congressman.” His entire role was to serve autocrats in congress for his own benefit.

Trey Gowdy conducted investigations in the tragedy in Benghazi eight times. The results failed to find valid reasons to indict Hillary Clinton and cost taxpayers tens-of-millions of dollars.

Darrell Issa was the wealthiest congressman in Washington. He also wasted millions of dollars conducting investigations into President Obama’s administration; each of which failed miserably.

Blake Farenthold is the congressman who forced the revelation of the “slush fund.” After multiple allegations of sexual harassment and sexual assault, he was forced to resign.

Three Senators who will not be returning: Bob Corker, Jeff Flake, and Orrin Hatch.

Corker and Flake often criticized “Trumpenstein,” but always voted with him.

What can I say about Hatch? He was too old and out of touch to be in Congress 20 years ago; he is the ‘poster boy’ for term limits. His devotion to the worst president in history was embarrassing.

We will not miss any of them; now let’s get rid of Mitch McConnell and others on November 3, 2020. This is our country, not theirs.
