Not a single “Republican” politician has the courage to challenge their fuhrer. Trump is immoral, incompetent, and unfit to be the President of the United States.
However, three retired generals and one who is retiring in the next few weeks, have expressed their opinions of Trump as a commander-in-chief, a leader, and a man. They are not good.
Former Chief of Staff, General John Kelly, and former Secretary of Defense, General James Mattis, both offered opinions about their former boss. They called him erratic, immoral, a habitual liar, and unfit to lead America. Both labeled his foreign policy as ‘dangerous to our nation’s future.’
When Trump made an unannounced visit to Iraq a couple of days ago, retired General Barry McCaffrey called it embarrassing and a ‘stunt.’
“It’s a good thing that the president went to Iraq and visited the troops, even better that he brought Melania along,” McCaffrey said. “It was entirely inappropriate to use that as a point of a political rally.”
He also criticized Trump for claiming that the troops received their first raise in 10 years; completely false.
The latest member of the military brass to denounce the orange man is retired General Stanley McChrystal.
“I don’t think he tells the truth,” McChrystal told ABC’s Martha Raddatz on “This Week.” When asked if he thought Trump was immoral, McChrystal responded: “I think he is.”
“What I would ask every American to do is again, stand in front of that mirror and say, what are we about?,” he continued. “Am I really willing to throw away or ignore some of the things that people do that are pretty unacceptable normally just because they accomplish certain other things that we might like. If we want to be governed by someone we wouldn’t do a business deal with because they’re their background is so shady, if we’re willing to do that then that’s in conflict with who I think we are.”
“And so I think it’s necessary in those times to take a stand,” he said.
All of these general have impressive records and extensive experience on the battle field.
McChrystal first expressed his concern about the direction in which our nation is heading in November.
In November, McChrystal wrote in a column for CNN saying that “America is facing a leadership crisis.”
“We’ve become increasingly obsessed with what national leader we’re for or against,” he said. “President Trump is just the most bombastic example of this phenomenon, which has been playing out for decades.”
Only Trump supporters continue to believe in this con-man. He is a failure as a man, a leader, and as a human. Time to end the charade. Trump is unworthy of wearing the title of “President of the United States.”
