There are more than 30,000 ISIS fighters in Syria and northern Iraq. American soldiers were poised to attack the last city held by ISIS east of the Euphrates River. Trump tweeted that ISIS has been defeated; of course, his thumbs were moving again. More lies.
Let’s be brutally honest here; Bashir al-Assad and Vladimir Putin are partners in the genocide continuing in Syria. Trump’s unilateral decision to remove all of America’s troops from Syria, against the advice of his cabinet and the military brass, is a Christmas gift to his puppeteer and mentor, Vladimir Putin.
Eight months ago, these same advisers told Trump that it was a bad idea when he suggested it then; they believe it remains a bad idea today. Trump’s arrogance, combined with his refusal to learn how to perform the job for which he was elected, presents a very dangerous situation for our nation’s future.
“My sense is that it’s been a shock through the administration that this was made,” Senate Foreign Relations chairman Bob Corker told reporters on Wednesday after returning from the White House, where he had traveled to meet with Trump but was told as he waited the meeting was canceled.
If you choose not to believe that Trump’s refusal to read the President’s Daily Briefing is not a serious problem, you are obviously and woefully uninformed about the workings of our nation’s government.
Our government was designed with a ‘check and balance’ system. Congress has the ability to override poor and potentially damaging decisions by the executive branch. Sadly, Republicans have bowed to their fuhrer without questioning his decisions.
On January 3, 2019 Democrats and Independents will take control of the House. On November 3, 2020, all Republicans must be removed from Washington. When the presidency and the Senate are returned to Democrats and Independents America will once again belong to the people.
To all Republicans; this is our country, not yours.
