“I’d love to see a shut down if we don’t get this taken care of,” Trump said. “We need to strengthen our borders, not by a little bit but by a lot.”
Trump is willing to shut down the government unless his unnecessary and foolhardy wall is funded. He is willing to waste as much as $50 billion to keep a moronic campaign promise. He’s not happy that he has wasted tens-of-millions of dollars in his first year playing golf and traveling back and forth to his ‘playpens;’ he needs to keep another promise he made; “I love using other people’s money.” This time it’s yours and mine.
While senators from both sides of the aisle are working towards a long term budget agreement, Trump is being a bully and demanding that our government waste money on a wall, which will only encourage more tunnels by Mexican drug lords, and giving the Pentagon more money to throw in the trash. It is a fact that fifty cents out of every dollar the military brass receives goes to waste.
If Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan cared about America and our nation’s people, they could become real leaders who would be respected by millions of Americans. A bill could be passed in the House and Senate in a bipartisan manner, and sent to Trump for his signature. If he vetoed it, Ryan could rally the House to override his veto. This would restore democracy in America. But it won’t happen. All Republicans have been spayed and neutered at birth.
McConnell and Ryan lost their cojones years ago, and are now leaders of Trump’s Third Reich.
This is going to play out badly for Trump and his hypocritical party. Two bipartisan immigration bills have been written; one by Lindsey Graham and Dick Durbin, and another by John McCain and Christopher Coons. But the spoiled rich kid in the White House wants his way about everything. He lied about his willingness to accept a bipartisan agreement, and his intentions to save the DACA program. His biggest lie remains his intention to work with both parties. Trump wants to be America’s first fuhrer, and there cannot be a two-party system; that would allow democracy to remain our system of government.
Please vote in November; America is worth saving.
