Trump Does not Create Jobs: His Actions have Cost one Industry 40,000 Jobs

Statue of LIberty

Trump loves to take the credit for the accomplishments of President Obama. The stock market record highs and a low unemployment rate are all results of programs and actions taken years ago by a real president.

The things he will not accept the blame for are the severe losses in the tourism industry.

Since Trump was elected, 40,000 jobs have been eliminated. In the eight days after Trump announced his Muslim travel ban on January 27, 2017, tourism dropped by 6.5 percent. During that same week, online searches for flights to the United States dropped 17 percent.

Trump’s actions resulted in an estimated loss of $185 million in business travel bookings from January 28 to February 4, as calculated by the Global Business Travel Association. The drop-off in tourism resulted in 4.3 million fewer visitors last year, which adds up to a staggering loss of $7.4 billion in revenue for the US.

This is another example of the ‘Trump Effect.’

I must offer the entire truth. Another factor is the fact that our nation experiences more mass shootings each year than days on the calendar. We are the only nation in the entire world which suffers from gun crazy individuals who have no concern for human life.

My wife and I are only two of millions of other Americans who choose to be among crowds very infrequently. We don’t go to movies, sporting events, or concerts. Domestic or white terrorism is a greater threat to innocent Americans than any foreign radical group.

You will never hear about the tourism industry on the fake television “news” shows or from the Trump administration. Just know that he is a job destroyer, not a job creator.

Do you remember the ‘Carrier’ plant in Indiana where Trump and Pence bragged about saving jobs? Take a moment to see how many workers have been laid off as of today.
