1,400 Iraqi nationals remain in the United States thanks to a federal judge.
“This Court concludes that to enforce the Congressional mandate that district courts lacks jurisdiction – despite the compelling context of this case – would expose Petitioners to the substantiated risk of death, torture, or other grave persecutions before their legal claims can be tested in a court,” wrote US District Judge Mark Goldsmith in a 24-page opinion on Tuesday, according to Al Jazeera.
This happened in Detroit. Many of those selected for deportation, are Christians and would likely face death at the hands of Iraq’s Shiite government.
There must be some common sense, somewhere in our government. The Republican Party are the new “Keystone Cops” who are running amok and have no plans for the future of our nation other than to destroy eight years of President Obama’s efforts to restore respect and dignity to our nation. We have an illegitimate president who has no concept about what governing a nation of 320 million people means. His presidency is nothing more than an effort to soothe his fragile ego, and maintain some semblance of relevance. He is a failure and has a serious mental insufficiency which will prove increasingly dangerous to our nation with each passing day.
One of his most frightening prejudices is his severe Islamophobia. He constant efforts to single out one religion, and insist that the followers of Muhammad are all enemies of the United States is the most immoral and anti-American act by any president since Andrew Jackson.
When Trump attempted to ban Muslims access to America, he named just six nations. These nations are not entirely Muslim, and his blanket condemnation of the people of an entire nation is dangerous and inhumane.
“The biggest concern here is the vast majority of the Chaldeans, Syrians and Christians come from what is known as ISIS territory. The city of Mosul, which is the largest Christian village in Iraq, was the first raided by ISIS. Their Christian brethren have left these areas,” attorney Clarence Dass told RT. “For them to return for sure will be to face discrimination, torture, if not the death penalty when they get there.”
Trump is not able to think logically. He cannot take advice from his advisers and evaluate it, eventually making the best decision based on facts and possible complications coming from those decisions. Trump lacks not only the experience and qualifications to be the President of the United States, he lacks sufficient intelligence.
Trump has no interest in saving the lives of 1,400 Iraqis. They are not millionaires or billionaires, and have no reason to make him feel relevant. They are nothing but ‘collateral damage.’
Please re-post; thank you.
