Only six men were in the room when Trump and Putin met today. Other than the two main figures, there was Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sergei Lavrov, and two interpreters. What was actually discussed may remain a mystery forever.
Trump and Putin are extremely secretive; as all autocrats are. The truth would ‘set their people free from tyranny.’ Most interesting are the statements by Lavrov and Tillerson. They were conflicting, and because both men lie constantly for their bosses, it’s impossible to know which one is telling the truth; and maybe neither was exactly honest with their remarks.
“They had a very robust and lengthy exchange on the subject,” Tillerson said. “The President pressed President Putin on more than one occasion regarding Russian involvement. President Putin denied such involvement, as I think he has in the past.”
Lavrov told a slightly different story.
“President Trump said he’s heard Putin’s very clear statements that this is not true and that the Russian government didn’t interfere in the elections and that he accepts these statements. That’s all,” Lavrov said, according to a CNN translation.
Tillerson attempted to end the discussion, and infer that hacking into our election machines was ‘unimportant.’
“I think what the two presidents, I think rightly, focused on is how do we move forward,” he said. “How do we move forward from here?”
I am inclined to believe that Tillerson was the greater liar. Putin is in no danger of being removed from office; Trump’s reality is that he could be impeached for treason.
However, it remains very likely that the truth will be hidden from the world forever. Fascist governments operate best that way.
A point of interest; Trump does not understand the Russian language, but Putin is fluent in English; he simply prefers to speak in Russian. Think about it; Putin was a high-level KGB operative who was expertly trained and English was a must. Trump went to “Podunk University,” where he never learned to speak English correctly.
The two men could have conversed privately and discussed their success last November; but we’ll never know. Between the two, it is very possible that they pulled off the biggest heist in the history of the world; they stole America.
I just realized how Trump brings out the ‘conspiracy theorist’ in me; but dammit, it is highly possible.
Wouldn’t it be nice if the television media would have the courage to ask questions instead of allowing politicians to use them as propaganda machines? I miss the great and legitimate newsmen of the past, and realize how lucky I was to have listened to their broadcasts.
Please re-post; thank you.
