Walter Shaub, Tired of Trump’s Lack of Ethics, Resigns

Office of Government Ethics Director Walter Shaub Jr. is turning in his resignation on Thursday. Donald Trump has refused to act ethically as America’s illegitimate president. He refuses to prove that he has divested his interests in the 12 nations in which he has business ties. Trump has also claimed an extraordinary number of ethics wavers for his staff, but has failed to present them to Mr. Shaub’s office. He’s too busy watching FOX Noise.

Thursday morning, Shaub told NPR that “the current situation has made it clear that the ethics program needs to be stronger than it is. At the Campaign Legal Center, I’ll have more freedom to push for reform. I’ll also be broadening my focus to include ethics issues at all levels of government.”

Trump has created a record number of inquiries regarding his ethics, most related to his business interests. Mr Shaub reports that during the period of October 2008 and March 2009, his office received 733 inquiries about Mr. Obama. During the same months in 2016 and 2017, his office was bombarded with 39,105 requests for information.

Trump has failed to follow in the footsteps of his predecessors of the past 40 years. He has also failed to present his tax returns to the American people, a policy which began in 1973 with Richard Nixon, who offered all of his returns back to when he was elected in 1969.

The Trump presidency has survived in a clandestine manner; refusing to be transparent and allow the American people to know if their illegitimate president is a ‘crook.’

In just over five months multiple federal employees, including some appointed by Trump have found it necessary to resign. No ethical, principled, or moral man or woman could possibly agree to work for the worst and most immoral president in our nation’s history.

I commend Mr. Shaub for his decision, although our nation will miss him. Most Americans would have been more pleased if Trump had resigned and Shaub remained in his position.

I can dream; can’t I?

Please re-post; thank you.
