All the talk yesterday and today involves tweets released by Donald Trump which viciously attacked “Morning Joe’s” Mika Brzezinski. Along with Joe Scarborough, she co-hosts a three hour discussion broadcast on MSNBC. If you’ve been in a coma, you haven’t read the tweets, or had them read to you. If that’s not true, you know that Trump’s attacks were personal, and extremely undignified and unprofessional. His words were extremely sexist and unwarranted, and an attack on Ms. Brzezinski’s appearance.
Most of you are likely unaware that Scarborough was previously a Republican member of the House of Representatives, and remains a dedicated Republican. He has known Donald Trump for many years, and today he and Ms. Brzezinski discussed the current situation.
When Trump declared his candidacy in June of 2015, NBC, the parent company of MSNBC became concerned. Their co-hosts and the presidential candidate maintained a close relationship. Scarborough had occasionally offered advice to candidate Trump, and spoke highly of him.
“You guys have been supporters,” Mr. Trump told the two hosts during an interview the morning after he won the New Hampshire primary. “And I really appreciate it. And not necessarily supporters, but at least believers.”
However, in May of 2016, Scarborough stated that he did not believe that Trump had the ability to win the presidency; and the twitter attacks began. But that’s not what this story is about.
This morning Brzezinski and Scarborough interrupted the beginning of their vacation to offer statements about the current situation. They are confused and concerned.
Both co-hosts described the Trump they knew as jovial and self-deprecating. They never viewed him as mean or vindictive. They spoke of the current Donald Trump and expressed a serious concern about his mental condition. Without claiming that he is mentally ill, they indicated that the drastic difference between Trump a few years ago and the Trump who is now in the White House is disturbing; he is not the same man.
I have been writing about this long before Trump was gifted the presidency by the Electoral College. Without a doubt he displays symptoms of paranoid schizophrenia. I have often wondered if when he makes vile attacks on individuals and forgets that he bears the title of President of the United States, if he is ‘off his meds.’ Something is seriously amiss in Washington.
Not only did Brzezinski and Scarborough have a congenial relationship with Trump, Hillary and Bill Clinton did as well; they were guests at the wedding of Trump and Melania.
Something is wrong, and Republicans must support the country and take their oaths seriously to “preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.” They must join with Mike Pence and demand that Trump undergo a psychiatric evaluation, or invoke the 25th amendment.
Please re-post; thank you.
