Most everyone is aware that Megyn Kelly is no longer with FOX Noise. You can take the girl out of the network, but you can’t take the network out of the girl. First of all, let’s place blame where it belongs. Deborah Turness is the President of NBC news. Ultimately, it was her decision to air an interview between newly acquired Megyn Kelly and conspiracy theorist, and all around nut job, Alex Jones. Of all the people in the world; with all of the current events filling the newspapers and online news; why a man who is illegitimate and not worth listening to? It appears that Ms. Turness was trained by Roger Ailes; sensationalism increases ratings, and ratings increase advertising. Profit before people.
If the idea is to challenge ’60 Minutes,’ that is a lost cause. This long running broadcast is an American staple; and deserves to be. The stories broadcast by ’60 Minutes’ are covered by experienced and qualified journalists. The subject matter is current and pertinent to America and the world today.
In case you have not read or heard about the Father’s Day broadcast between Kelly and the creator of ‘InfoWars,’ Alex Jones, some very relevant individuals were given a preview of the show.
One of Jones’ most controversial and vile theories is related to the horrific events of December 14, 2012 when 20 small children and 6 educators were slaughtered by deranged gunman Adam Lanza at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. Jones claims that it was ‘all a hoax;’ it never happened.
Several family members of those slain on that horrific day have filed a lawsuit against NBC for planning to allow Jones’ to state his despicable theory on national television.
Sadly, the fourth estate is virtually non-existent. I was fortunate enough to be a young man when television news originated. The three networks refused to broadcast any news; it simply didn’t make money. Congress passed a law requiring one-half hour be set aside each evening to inform the American people of daily events in our nation. Walter Cronkite, (the ‘most trusted man in America’), and others, offered the facts about the issues facing the American people, and allowed the people to make their own decisions.
Today the goal of news divisions is sensationalism. The news division of the major networks are more profitable than any other division. “Journalists” are paid millions of dollars to ‘entertain’ viewers. ‘Guests’ on these very long and uninformative ‘shows’ attempt to influence the opinions of men and women foolish enough to watch their pitiful broadcasts.
The families of those killed at Sandy Hook Elementary must be valued over the idiocy of such a vile man as Alex Jones. Although your illegitimate president, Donald Trump, watches Jones’ podcasts, this does not offer Jones one iota of credibility.
The suffering of these families will never end. NBC and Megyn Kelly are insulting these men and women. NBC is downplaying the magnitude of that tragedy in 2012, and offering a platform for a man no intelligent and patriotic American should ever listen to. Without a single substantiated fact, Jones says anything he desires, and none of it is worth listening to.
I no longer watch broadcast television news, and I certainly won’t be watching Kelly on Sunday evening. I don’t have that much time to waste in my life.
Profit before people must cease, and real newsmen and women must step forward and offer facts about the events occurring in America and around the world.
Please re-post; thank you.
