Kamala Harris is a Democratic Senator from California. She earned her reputation, and eventually her seat in the Senate, in law enforcement. She was known as an extremely competent prosecutor in the courtroom.
When Attorney General Jeff Sessions testified before the Senate, Senator Harris asked him direct questions which should have been answered with a simple “yes” or “no.” When Sessions attempted to talk around the question, she interrupted him and asked him once again “yes” or “no.” Republican Chairman Richard Burr told Ms. Harris to “allow the Attorney General to answer the question.”
On a CNN panel later in the day, one male “journalist” called Ms. Harris actions “hysterical.” A female journalist on the panel asked him if he would refer to a male asking the same questions in the same manner as “hysterical.” He refused to answer.
Every evil that exists in America has found new daylight since the illegitimate election of Donald Trump. White supremacy, Islamophobia, homophobia, anti-Semitism, and sexism are more prevalent than at any other time in my 70 years of life on this earth.
The truth is that “just give me a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answer” is the most common phrase used during congressional testimony. That must stop. Most questions require nothing more than affirmation or denial. “Politi-speak” must end.
The average American most likely believes that women in the House or Senate are given the respect they deserve; not true. Complaints persist by female legislators that congress remains a “good old boy’s club.” In the last several months we have witnessed Senator Elizabeth Warren disrespected by traitor and Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell, and now Senator Harris by Richard Burr.
The truth is that old, white men have outlived their usefulness. Term limits are no longer a good idea; they are a must. McConnell is 75 years old and should have retired at least 10 years ago. First elected to the Senate in 1984, it is a disgrace that he has been allowed to remain in office for 32 years. Our founding fathers did not plan for ‘career politicians,’ and there should be none. McConnell is a classic. He refuses to serve the people, and places his party first. He is a misogynist, a bully, and a racist.
America needs younger men and women in congress. The more women the better; men have caused our government to become dysfunctional. Kamala Harris is the new breed, and an example of what ‘serving the American people’ truly means.
So step out of the way Mr. Burr; you are the past and a failure.
Please re-post; thank you.
