Republicans, and whatever Donald Trump is, are the only group in the entire world which denies climate change. A recent statement by a Republican politician reveals a world of fantasy, or maybe just an effort to pander to one hypocritical group of faux-Christians.
“As a Christian, I believe that there is a creator in God who is much bigger than us,” Rep. Tim Walberg (R-Mich.) told constituents last weekat a town hall in Coldwater, Mich. “And I’m confident that, if there’s a real problem, he can take care of it.”
Walberg never read the bible as I have, because one of the greatest lessons in it is that “God helps those who help themselves” Relying upon a supernatural being to perform a miracle when he or she is asked is laughable.
Of course this is assuming that there is a god. If a deity does exist, why hasn’t he or she saved the millions of men, women, and children dying in Africa. Whey doesn’t he or she punish the greedy and careless billionaires who live lives of luxury while the poverty level grows in America. If there is a god, he or she would have saved our planet from the polluters. He or she created a beautiful place for man to live and would certainly prioritize the repair of the planet before he repaired mankind.
The core of Republican hypocrisy is based in the support of the Christian religious right. I have written thousands of words denouncing this politically based group of charlatans. They do not believe in the teachings of Jesus Christ, and have proven so by their actions. They have their own goals; to increase the number of men and women who attend their churches and pay tithing in exchange for fairy tales.
Now for the truth. Walberg and his hypocritical constituents deny climate change for a single reason; continued support for the one-percent wealthiest Americans. These are the men and women who head major corporations, and are the biggest polluters in the world. Republicans seek to remove all regulations which would save our air, water, and soil and allow the wealthy additional bloated profits.
Now for the bottom line. It is capitalism which has failed the American people. Capitalism has created a widening income inequality, and is responsible for the demise of an entire political party. The GOP is ‘Republican in name only’ today. They are without integrity, morals, or principles. Their god is money, and they do not represent the voting public.
Trump placed America in bad company by failing to sign the Paris Accord. We are now only the third nation in the world to refuse to sign the agreement, along with Nicaragua and Syria; two countries who have a horrific record regarding human rights and the quality of life for their people.
Congratulations Donny boy; you can add another mistake to your long and growing list of failures. To Trump supporters; are you ‘tired of winning yet?’
If there is a god, he is crying because Trump is condemning his earth to an early demise.
