For the last 20 years, FOX Noise has been the most divisive propaganda tool for the Republican Party in television history. It can claim anything it wishes, but facts are facts unless your are the Trump administration. FOX pretended to have ‘journalists,’ but they were and are nothing more than ‘personalities.’ Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity, Glen Beck, and others spread lies and half-truths which assisted in the destruction of our government. Megyn Kelly was a major force in this effort, and struggled as FOX’s third personality for years. Then came the first Republican “debate” in August of 2015.
It was obvious from the beginning that RNC Chairman, Reince Priebus, had conspired with then FOX president Roger Ailes, (who was later accused by Kelly of sexual harassment), to derail Donald Trump’s campaign. They decided to use Megyn Kelly as the tool which would remove him as the possible leader in the race for the Republican presidential nomination. She failed miserably. The following day Trump experienced a surge in the polls.
Undeterred, Kelly continued her attacks on Democrats and helped misguide millions of Americans about Hillary Clinton and President Obama. Kelly adhered to FOX’ policy of defending the Republican Party at all costs. The truth was inconsequential. Winning elections for GOP politicians was the only goal. Kelly sold her soul for a salary.
After Roger Ailes was accused by more than 25 women of sexual harassment, including Kelly, changes at FOX were inevitable. Kelly was offered a large contract to remain with the GOP propaganda machine, but she also received offers from other networks. Eventually NBC reached an agreement with Kelly, and forever removed any credibility for the network which once prided itself with true journalists such as Chet Huntley, David Brinkley, Tim Russert, Tom Brokaw, Jessica Savitch, John Chancellor, Brian Williams, and others.
Kelly is an opportunist. To save her legacy, she left FOX in an attempt to convince uninformed Americans that she was, in fact, a true journalist. She remains a tool; a tool of corporate greed which places advertising revenue ahead of the truth and good journalism. NBC news can no longer be considered a member of the ‘fourth estate.’
It was obvious that Kelly’s interview with Vladimir Putin on Sunday night was a staged event. Putin destroyed the fake-journalist. Intervals during the interview made it appear that she was asking ‘tough’ questions, but Putin played her for a fool.
I grew up watching the great journalists and newsmen from the beginning of television news. A congressional order required the three major networks to offer the American people 30 minutes of news each evening. The networks lost money during that short departure from entertainment.
The American people benefited from that requirement. We watched Walter Cronkite, Edward R. Murrow, Huntley and Brinkley offer us information without comment; without bias. We were expected to form our own opinions.
Today’s “news persons” are paid millions of dollars to offer their opinions and misguide the American public, while the fail to force politicians to answer their quesions. The goal is advertising revenue. “News” is now the most profitable segment on every major television station, but the America people are less informed.
It’s not only Kelly and NBC who are at fault. CBS employs two individuals who I once respected, but no longer can be considered courageous and talented newspersons. Charlie Rose and Nora O’Donnell host ‘CBS This Morning,’ but fail to display the courage to ask the ‘tough’ questions and reveal the truth to their viewers, and they do this in exchange for million dollar paychecks.
Here I am; I will always tell the truth in an effort to keep the American people informed. I will keep my promise. I will surely remain poor, but I will also remain principled and dedicated to the people of my country. Thank you all for reading my rants.
