The only real difference between Kathy Griffin’s tasteless action and Ted Nugent’s vile threats and rhetoric, is that Griffin was actually punished for his mistake and Nugent was invited to the White House by his leader.
The right wing was livid when Griffin posed with a mock, severed head of Donald Trump. She was subsequently fired by CNN. The punishment fit the crime, but she will likely make much more money on a eventual comedy tour where she’ll make jokes about Trump and her tasteless display.
Nugent, who is a right wing extremist in the mold of Alex Jones and Rush Limbaugh, constantly made remarks about President Obama which were just as vile and were once investigated as threats to the President by the Secret Service. His hatred for Barrack Obama simply for being black is well-known and heavily criticized by all true Americans. Trump likes him; white supremacists must stick together; their numbers are much smaller than real Americans.
In 2007, during one of his less than mediocre concerts, Nugent went on a rant about Hillary Clinton and Barrack Obama using extremely foul and degrading language.
In 2012 at another of the traitorous NRA conferences in St. Louis, Nugent went off again.
“We need to ride into that battlefield and chop their heads off in November,” he said of the Obama administration in April 2012. He added: “If Barack Obama becomes the next president in November, again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year.”
In 2014 at an outdoor show in Las Vegas, Nugent continued his attacks on Mr. Obama.
He called President Obama a “communist-raised, communist-educated, communist-nurtured subhuman mongrel” and a “gangster” who weaseled his way into the presidency.
Republicans have no right to attack Griffin; she is paying for her mistakes, but Nugent remains a welcome White House guest.
Republican is a synonym for hypocrite.
