Republican Controlled Congress Refuses to Listen to the American People

If you are a new or lifelong Republican, and you continue to believe that the Republican Party represents you and your loved ones, I must tell you the truth; you are being conned. For more than 20 years GOP politicians have been “Republicans In Name Only;” known as RINO’s.

Lyin Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, and even John McCain place the success of their party ahead of the needs and wishes of 99 percent of the American people. They are not listening to you, and if you refuse to believe me, here are a few examples of the truth vs the goals of your enemies.

Most Americans approve of, or are willing to accept the principles of same-sex marriage. Thanks to the Christian religious right, Republican politicians have the largest percentage of homophobes in the developed world.

For the first time in history, 57 percent of Americans say that abortion should be the woman’s choice and legal, while 39 percent believe that it should be illegal in most cases. Every elected Republican aligns themselves with the Christian religious right and denounces all abortions. Some are so extreme they believe that if complications arise at child birth, and only the mother or the fetus can be saved, the mother must be allowed to perish.

The Christian religion is growing slowly. Younger Americans are denouncing all religions, or choosing a faith other than Christianity. Over 65 million Americans reject all religion; some claiming to be atheists, and others agnostics. The fastest growing religion in the United States is the religion of Islam. But Republicans denounce all Muslims and continue to violate the first amendment by seeking the establishment of the fantasy of Christianity as our national religion.

Across the nation tens-of-thousands of Americans have been demanding that Republican politicians vote to retain Obamacare. House Republicans, under the failed “leadership” of Lyin Paul Ryan, voted to repeal Obamacare and replace it with Trumpcare by a single vote. More than 23 million Americans would lose their healthcare. 131 Americans with preexisting conditions would either not have the ability to obtain healthcare, or would likely find it unaffordable. Older Americans would see their premiums increase by 500 to 750 percent. Republicans are not listening.

Trump has offered his budget to Congress. As with Trumpcare, the wealthiest one-percent of Americans, including Trump and his spawn, would receive trillions of dollars in tax cuts over the next ten years. Medicaid reductions under both proposals would total more than $1.4 trillion over 10 years. Healthcare for children would be reduced. Food stamps would be reduced. The greatest harm would be to children, the poor, and disabled Americans. Millions of these men, women, and children are Trump supporters. We’ll soon learn if Republicans are listening to the American people at all, or bowing to their fuhrer once again without any concern for the future of our nation’s people.

Mick Mulvaney, Trump’s budget chief, and a member of the TEA Party, attempted to justify the cuts by supporting the wealthiest Americans who oppose participating in programs which assist the most vulnerable of our American people.

“Can we justify this to the folks who are actually paying for it?”

If this sounds familiar, it is. This once again exposes the primary objective of the Republican Party; “Profit Before People.”

We have met the enemy and they are ours.” During the War of 1812, U.S. Commander Oliver Hazard Perry reported a naval victory against the British. In 1970, cartoonist Walt Kelly paraphrased the quote and said: “We have met the enemy and they is us.” He was referring to the decay of the natural environment within our nation. We could use his quote today to describe the RINO’s who like to call themselves Republicans.

Our nation will not survive if one of its two major parties refuses to represent all of our nation’s people; if they continue to refuse to deliberate and compromise. They ignore the polls, and attempt to tell us what we believe and what we need. The bottom line is that they believe that we are ignorant.

We can prove to them that we are not theirs to use as they choose. In November of 2018, we can vote all candidates with an “R” next to their name out of office. This would include Lyin Paul Ryan. All we have to do is show up at the polls in historic numbers. We CAN take our nation back.
