Each Secret Service agent takes an oath. A part of that oath requires a promise to protect those they are assigned to serve ‘at all cost.’ However, the most important part of their oath is common to every federal employee; “to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”
For a short number of years, I worked for the federal government. I took the oath of office, and administered the same hundreds of times. We took it seriously, not only because of the penalties involved, but because of patriotism to our nation’s people.
In all honesty, I doubt that I could sacrifice my life for Trump, his family, or his circle of sinners if I was employed by the Secret Service. They fail to represent the nation of our founding fathers; the nation which deserved my loyalty as I grew up in the 1950’s and 60’s.
I am a true patriot. I don’t run around waving the flag, or shouting slogans which have no meaning. I believe in the principles of our founding fathers and cherish those ideals. I do not support today’s government which is not interested in me, my family or my loved ones.
America is not a geographical entity. It is not a group of politicians who promise to represent the people of our nation; a promise they never intend to keep. America is a dream. America is 320 million people who share the same dream of those who signed the Declaration of Independence in 1776, and the Constitution in 1789.
Were these men perfect, and did they agree on every issue facing the new nation? Of course not. But they shared core beliefs and a desire for individual freedom and the right of the people to demand representation by their government, or the right to overthrow that government.
America does not have a king; an omnipotent leader. We elect a president and expect him or her to care for all of our nation’s people and not just the one-percent.
Today the right wing represents the wealthy, and ignores the rights of the majority. Our illegitimate president has proposed multiple pieces of legislation which will adversely affect most of our nation’s people.
I could not promise to give my life for any man or woman who failed to support the American people. Trump is anti-American, and represents the worst of America. He is praised and supported by white supremacists, bigots, anti-Semites, Islamophobics, sexists, and homophobes. My goal; my belief is that all of the American people must be protected from harm. If our president fails to support all of our nations people, he does not deserve my sacrifice or my loyalty.
So the answer is a resounding “no.” I would never protect any man or woman who failed to care for all or our nation’s people, and demand that he or she be saved from the ravages of the majority who denounce his authority. Throughout history, traitors are punished with their own death. How could anyone save Trump’s life knowing that he supports the destruction or our nation; our democracy?
Only true Americans should be allowed to live in the White House. Trump is a foreign agent who rejects my America. I will never accept his illegitimate presidency, and he will never gain my respect.
Save our nation; evict Trump from the White House.
