As Trump is known to do, he made many ‘false promises’ to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and the people of Israel yesterday. His pandering will prove dangerous to peace in the region. Trump supports a ‘single state solution,’ with Tel Aviv as the new nation’s capital.
However, when he met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, he offered a small attempt to educate the poorly informed and illegitimate American president.
“We reassert to you our positions of a two-state solution along the borders of 1967, a state of Palestine with its capital in East Jerusalem, living alongside of Israel,” he said, referring to Israel’s occupation of the West Bank following a war against three Arab armies.
Most of the United Nations supports Palestine, including our European allies. Trump is obviously ignorant about the long struggle by the Palestinian people, and the imperialistic actions of “Bibi” Netanyahu.
Once again, Trump took credit for the actions and accomplishments of his predecessors, adding to his legacy as a do-nothing president.
“America’s security partnership with Israel is stronger than ever,” he said. “Under my administration, you see the difference. Big, big beautiful difference, including the Iron Dome missile defense program . . . [and] David’s Sling,” an aircraft interception system. The former was established here under the Obama administration, the latter under President George W. Bush.
Trump’s lies have become extremely tiresome. He has surrounded himself with ‘spin doctors.’ Not only does Kellyanne Conway offer “alternative facts,” joining her are Mike Pence, Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, Reince Priebus, Sean Spicer, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, and Steve Miller. They are only a part of Trump’s circle of sinners.
If I were the citizens of Israel, I would not be hopeful that Trump will keep his promises. He has failed to enact a single promise made to his supporters which he claimed would happen on “day one.”
Trump knows nothing about anything, and refuses to take advice from others. His White House staff exists in a constant state of confusion and uncertainty. Trump is unpredictable because he has no plan; no ideas. He doesn’t know what he will say or do from minute to minute, and when he does make a decision, it will be a bad decision.
Donny boy; do the American people a favor and resign before you are legally and physically removed from office. End our national nightmare today.
