Donald Trump is under investigation to determine the extent of his relationship with Russia, and Russia’s President Vladimir Putin. After Trump admitted that he fired FBI Director James Comey two weeks ago because he was leading the investigation, Trump met with Russian agents the very next day at Putin’s request.
The soon-to-be former head of the House Oversight Committee, Jason Chaffetz says that ‘whoever leaked the information about that meeting should be prosecuted.’ Really. The American people have a right to know when their illegitimate president meets with our adversaries, especially when the timing is under suspicion. Why was the American press not allowed to the meeting when the Russian news agency, TASS was present?
In addition, during the secretive meeting, Trump offered top secret information to Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, and Ambassador/Spy, Sergey Kislyak. Although technically the president can declassify any information he chooses, Trump failed to consider the consequences of his action which could place American and Israeli lives in peril.
If Hillary Clinton would have taken such controversial action, Chaffetz would have already organized a full investigation of the incident by his committee; another hypocrite.
“I want to see that this person is prosecuted. I think the president makes a very good point. No matter who is in the White House, you cannot have the type of leaking of information, sources, methods, classified information,” Chaffetz told ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday.
The only person who needs to be prosecuted is Donald J. Trump. His lies and criminal actions make him ripe for impeachment. Chaffetz would prefer to ignore the fact that he is supporting an immoral man whose actions and words damage our nation daily.
Chaffetz claims that he is resigning, and the rumor has it that he will be joining the Republican propaganda machine, FOX Noise. Good place for any man or woman who hates the country of our founding fathers.
