For the last six months, I have read every explanation; every excuse as to why Hillary Clinton lost the Electoral College. There can be no question that Russian interference, and James Comey’s announcement about his investigation into Hillary’s e-mails were damaging. In addition, I agree that a certain level of misogyny was involved. However, the truth is far simpler, and it was obvious throughout 2016.
My wife used to watch ‘CBS This Morning’ every weekday. I write approximately six to eight hours every day. I watched and read about every event, and every opinion from the mainstream media. As it became certain that Trump would win the Republican nomination, and his cronies were interviewed on television, a very disturbing pattern developed.
Trump supporters were seldom given tough questions, and never queries related to Trump’s ‘platform,’ if he had one. Those who asked the questions allowed individuals such as Kellyanne Conway, and Mike Pence to deflect them and move into a campaign speech. Even when Trump was exposed as an objectifier of women, and was accused by multiple women of sexual assault, the media offered the American people minimal coverage. Trump’s blatant white supremacy became acceptable. He was given five-times more coverage by television “news” cameras than all other candidates combined.
Hillary Clinton, who constantly offered her position on the important issues, was virtually ignored by the media. Instead, they incessantly discussed her use of personal e-mail, and convinced millions of American people that she was ‘unlikable.’
Hillary was held to an extremely high standard, which many of us believed was sexist, while Trump dwelled in a cesspool, and little if any criticism was directed at the most unqualified candidate in history.
If the media had offered fair treatment, discussing the issues, and both candidate’s qualifications, Hillary would have been leading in the polls by 50 points when interference in our election occurred. It is the media who gave us our current national disaster of a Trump presidency.
The media continues to hold Hillary to a higher standard than their illegitimate president. She was the most qualified presidential candidate in American history, and her plans would have positively affected the majority of our nation’s people.
When she eventually reappeared in public, and offered her understanding about why she is not once again living in the White House, she was criticized, rather than praised for her candor.
Even hypocritical Republican politicians continue to bash Hillary and support Trump’s fallacious claims.
When the traitorous Ted Cruz asked a question during investigations into Russia’s proven interference into our election, he moved away from the issue and mentioned Hillary’s use of a private e-mail server. The word is “moron.”
Let me make one thing perfectly clear; our nation would be in a far better place had Hillary won the election on November 8th of 2016. The fact that she won the popular vote by nearly three million cast ballots proves that she remains the people’s president. If Hillary were working in the Oval Office, the Constitution would not be under attack. She would not have “partied” with Russians, as did Trump last Wednesday. Her advisers and cabinet would be diverse, and consist of qualified men and women who would conduct policy which would advance America, not destroy it.
My wife and I no longer watch “CBS This Morning.” Charlie Rose, Nora O’Donnell, and Gayle King failed the American people, and continue to do so. Unlike Cronkite, Murrow, and others, they are awarded millions of dollars each year, although they offer the American people fewer facts and more opinions. Their “guests” are allowed to move off topic, and sell themselves or their views to the American people. Advertisers take preference over the future of our nation; it’s another case ‘profit before people.’
If you watch television “news,” you are either uninformed or misinformed. The fourth estate; the one group of individuals we relied upon to expose the truth about our government, is non-existent on the major television networks.
I will never accept such a disreputable man as my president; and I believe no one else should either. He does not represent American principles or ideals. He is the ‘anti-Christ;’ the one man who would destroy the creation of our founding fathers.
