If you’ve ever had the misfortune to listen to Kellyanne Conway lie her way through an interview, and have not rolled your eyes, I’ve got a bridge to sell you. Anderson Cooper has become famous for his reporting both in the field and on a set. But he will long be remembered for his own eyeroll while interviewing Conway on CNN Tuesday evening.
It happened while he was attempting to ask the spin doctor about the sudden firing of FBI Director James Comey. If Cooper expected a direct and honest answer, he has not followed Conway as she lied for her boss without exhibiting a modicum of shame since joining his campaign in 2016.
“Now your White House is saying that what he did was wrong, but previously as a candidate, Donald Trump was saying that was the right thing,” Cooper noted — and Conway swiftly dismissed his point.
“You’re conflating two things that don’t belong together,” she said, and then proceeded to do exactly that: “Thanks for the trip down memory lane,” she added. “I was on your show often last fall saying we were going to win Michigan, and how we were going to do it. So that was fun.”
Hence, the eyeroll.
I am now embarrassed for the hundreds of failures by Conway. She has proven to be a liar who attempts to spin every direct question into praise for her illegitimate president.
Conway loves the spotlight, and she’s lucky that Mr. Cooper asked her on his show. Many respectable journalists now refuse to speak with her; obviously tired of her lies and misdirection.
Of course Trump has hired another spin doctor; actually just a blatant liar. Sarah Huckabee Sanders lacks the ability to twist a fact into praise for her boss.
The American people cannot believe a single statement by Trump or any of his circle of sinners. Not a single truth has been told since November 9th, 2016.
This is the new normal. We are expected to believe “alternative facts.” This administration is the most secretive since that of Richard Nixon. They cannot be trusted with our country.
