If you read my rants, you know that I have little or no respect for any Republicans. I regained some hope that members of the GOP who were not extremists meant what they said to the media and would refuse to accept a man who was entirely immoral and openly racist as their party’s leader. However, in true hypocritical fashion, all of them once again bowed to their master and have begun a process which will destroy my America.
Paul Ryan is the most dangerous Republican. He is respected by the party, but is in truth a man without principles or the ability to govern. Mitch McConnell is the most traitorous Republican of all and a man totally unfit to be a United States senator.
From McConnell’s promise to do nothing for eight years, to his refusal more than 15 months ago to hold hearings for Supreme Court nominee, Merrick Garland, he has displayed a complete disregard for our nation’s people and the future of America.
You may remember his sexist reaction during the hearings for Attorney General nominee Jeff Sessions. When Senator Elizabeth Warren attempted to read a letter written by Coretta Scott King over 30 years ago, he virtually told her to ‘shut up and sit down.’ Ms. Warren was attempting to demonstrate a fact; Sessions is a white supremacist, and unfit to hold the position for which he was nominated. Later in the day, a male senator was allowed to read the same letter.
McConnell has failed Kentucky and the people of the United States. He is another old, white man who is unable and unwilling to perform his duties properly.
McConnell has not only proven himself to be a misogynist, he is also immature and unprofessional.
Senator Warren states that ‘the turtle’ refuses to acknowledge her in the halls of the United States senate.
“I’ve spoken to him, but he has not spoken to me,” Warren told the Globe in an interview published Saturday. “I say hello to Mitch every chance I get, and he turns his head.”
McConnell’s aids deny Senator Warren’s statement; that’s what all Republicans do when they want to avoid the truth.
McConnell made the following excuse for censuring the senator.
“Sen. Warren was giving a lengthy speech. She had appeared to violate the rule. She was warned. She was given an explanation,” McConnell said. “Nevertheless, she persisted.”
McConnell has never fought for anything he believes in during his tenure in the senate. He doesn’t believe in anything with the exception of his party and winning elections.
McConnell is another of the old, white men who must be removed from power. We need younger men and women who are eager to serve the people of the United States. ‘Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.’ No politician is more corrupt than McConnell. He is the poster boy defining why the term ‘professional politician’ denotes a man or woman who has no morals and is without compassion.
