If the popular vote elected our president, and not the Electoral College, as our founding fathers intended, America would have a Democrat in office today, and would have since 1992; 25 years in a row. Think about that.
In 1992 Bill Clinton became the 42nd President of the United States; defeating George H.W. Bush, and ending 12 years of Republican Administrations. Clinton won 43 percent of the popular vote; Bush 34, and Ross Perot nearly 19 percent. Clinton also won 370 Electoral Votes. In 1996, Clinton Defeated Bob Dole with 49 percent of the popular vote and 379 Electoral Votes. Dole received over 41 percent of the popular vote.
The 2000 election was a contest between Al Gore and George W. Bush. In the most contentious and controversial election in history, Bush received 271 Electoral votes; (270 needed to win). Al Gore’s total was 266. However, Gore won the popular vote with 50,996,582; Bush received 50,456,062. He would have been the 43rd President of the United States.
In 2008, Barrack Obama won nearly 63 percent of the popular vote and 365 Electoral Votes. In 2012, the President receive 51.1 percent of the popular vote and 332 electoral votes.
Last year’s election results remain questionable. Several alleged outside influences may have ‘rigged’ the election in favor of Trump. He was given the election with 306 Electoral votes. Initially the popular vote was won by Hillary Clinton with 47.2 percent, or 1,208,095 votes; Trump received 44.4 percent; 1,136,354 votes. After all votes were counted days later, Hillary had defeated Trump by nearly three million votes. The tally was Hillary Clinton 65,844,610, compared to Donald Trump’s 62,979,636, with a difference of 2,864,974.
If the presidential election was based on the Constitution, and not the Electoral College, our nation would not have suffered through the Bush Administration, and we would not be under attack by Trump and his circle of sinners today.
These facts will never be revealed by the mainstream media; they fear an even large backlash from the American people.
If McConnell and his stooges can remove the filibuster, they must also be just and repeal the Electoral College.
Alexander Hamilton is responsible for the Electoral College. He expressed his belief that the American people were incapable of making intelligent decisions in a general election. According to the previous numbers I offer my readers, he made a “huuuge” mistake.
Please make it your responsibility to inform all of the American people; re-post and spread the word.
