When Rupert Murdoch and Roger Ailes created FOX Noise with the goal creating a right wing propaganda machine, they formed a single plan; ratings would be the only goal. Facts and the truth were of no importance. Then they sought corrupt journalists and personalities who were willing to denounce principles and morals and sell their soul for financial gain.
Bill O’Reilly claimed to be a successful journalist and author. His audience grew as he told tales of courageous journalistic efforts and told his viewers what they wanted to hear; all liberals are bad people.
During the same time period when Brian Williams was removed from NBC’s nightly news broadcast because he exaggerated a story, O’Reilly was exposed for lying about virtually every event written in his profitable books. Roger Ailes ignored the fact that his biggest “star” was a liar and falsified his stories.
O’Reilly has been accused of multiple cases of sexual harassment; he chose to settle each incident out of court; fearing exposure in the legitimate media. If O’Reilly was employed by a reputable news service, his next job would be cooking hamburgers at a fast food joint. However, FOX is a hypocritical ‘news’ agency, and will likely keep him in his time slot for the singular purpose of ratings. Follow the money.
Your illegitimate president is defending O’Reilly because they share a similar debauchery.
President Trump called O’Reilly “a good person” in an Oval Office interview with Times reporters, adding this bit of legal advice: “Personally, I think he shouldn’t have settled. Because you should have taken it all the way. I don’t think Bill did anything wrong.”
This is no surprise considering Trump’s record as a sexual predator. He also defended his close friend Roger Ailes when more than 25 women accused him of sexual harassment.
When the right wing claims to support family values, they are actually claiming the right to commit incest and sexual assault; they believe that they have a right to use women and men for their personal pleasure.
O’Reilly will remain at FOX. Their ratings are in decline, and without O’Reilly they would cease to exist in a very short period of time.
