Paul Ryan Continues to Call American Rights “Entitlements”

Republicans (2)

Republicans seem to believe that all tax dollars should go to defense spending, and programs which benefit special interests. They ignore the needs of the majority, and the rights gained by real presidents and their administrations in the last 60 years. Their vision of America is not that of the average American.

“I’ve been a big time entitlement reformer for a long time because if you don’t start bending the curve in the out years, we are hosed,” Ryan said bluntly Tuesday morning.

Here’s the truth; someone must inform the American people. Politicians have ruined programs for the benefit of the American people throughout the history of our nation by misuse of taxpayer dollars.

In 1935, when our greatest President, Franklin D. Roosevelt, signed social security into law, it was a self-funded, self-sustaining program. Congress has stolen money from it for years to fund “pet” projects which aided them in their election campaigns.

Medicare was established in 1966 to assist senior citizens with health care. It is funded by a payroll tax, premiums and surtaxes from beneficiaries, and general revenue. Once again politicians have misused the funds, and the plan is now virtually broke.

Previous presidents, and real Republicans saw the need for these two social programs. They are not entitlements; they are necessary and vital to millions of Americans.

The real question is ‘why are members of the House and Senate not required to participate in these programs?’ Why are they allowed to have the best healthcare taxpayer dollars can buy? They serve us, they do not rule us. They are under a very large misconception.

If all of the thousands of unnecessary government agencies were eliminated, the national debt would be gone in four years. If individuals who do nothing in Washington were eliminated, such as Reince Priebus and Kellyanne Conway, we could save millions in wasted taxpayer money. Every legislator should be forced to read every bill presented in the House and Senate. If they performed the jobs for which they are paid, half of their staffs could be eliminated. But they’re too busy campaigning and raising money for their next election. For eight years Republicans followed Mitch McConnell’s orders and did nothing. Each Republican Representative received $174,000 in base salary.

Hey Ryan; leave my social security and Medicare alone. Cut the waste, including your own salary.
