Trump signed a lease with the federal government to operate a hotel in an historic building which was once a Post Office very near the Capitol Building. One of the provisions, which Trump agreed to, was that an elected official was prevented from operating a ‘for-profit’ venture within the property. Trump has a high-priced hotel inside the building designated for foreign dignitaries. This is another incidence in the long history of Trump’s questionable business interests. But there is more to the story.
“An electrical subcontractor who worked on the Trump International Hotel in Washington has sued a company owned by President Donald Trump for more than $2 million, alleging it was not fully paid.
“AES Electrical filed its lawsuit in the District of Columbia Superior Court, the latest in a string of lawsuits involving Trump’s renovation of the historic Old Post Office building a few blocks from the White House.”
Of course this is nothing new for the failed businessman. He has been involved in countless lawsuits for not paying contractors and subcontractors for work completed on his projects. This is the man supported by ignorant and uninformed voters in November.
My only question is; will hypocritical Republicans save him once again. My guess is ‘yes.’ They place their party before the country, and lack principles and morality which will forever protect their anti-American policies.
But I cannot exclude the cowardice of Democrats. Their leader, Senate Minority leader, Chuck Schumer, has voted in favor of Trump’s despicable nominees in the Senate. He has surrendered to Trump’s corruption and intention to destroy my America.
This situation regarding the Washington hotel will be ignored by politicians and the media who have protected Trump for the last 20 months.
My question is; will you accept a fascist regime, and allow a relatively few men and women in Washington to destroy democracy and the nation created by our founding fathers? It’s your choice. You can join millions of real Americans who marched on Saturday and celebrate our nation’s second revolution for independence, or you can bow to Trump; raise your right arm and shout “Sieg Heil.” It’s up to you. As for me, I will join Patrick Henry: “Give me liberty, or give me death.”
