As Trump continues to lie to the American people, his circle of sinners are in disagreement with many of his proposals. In the past few weeks, his spin doctor, Kellyanne Conway, has made statements in direct opposition to her benefactor. Now his nominees for cabinet positions are also reflecting a failure to communicate with the egotistical Trump.
It appears that there exists a severe lack of communication between Trump and his cronies; maybe they’re not reading his tweets.
We not only have a divided nation, and a dysfunctional government, we will have a new administration in just a week which is obviously disjointed and confused.
Trump told reporters during his campaign that he believed water boarding was an effective tool to garner information from our enemies. Trump has never served in the military, or any security service and therefore is unaware that proof has been offered multiple times that torture is not effective during interrogations.
Trump also stated that the nuclear agreement with Iran was a “bad deal,” and he would revoke the arrangement.
However, Trump’s nominee for Director of the CIA, Mike Pompeo, contradicted Trump, and told senators that he opposes water boarding. Pompeo’s reply was that he would “absolutely not” use brutal interrogation tactics on terrorism suspects in contravention of the law, even if ordered to do so by a president who campaigned on a promise to reinstate the use of such measures.
Retired General James Mattis, Trump’s nominee for Secretary of Defense told the committee that he believes the United States should honor its agreement with Iran. He told the Senate Armed Services Committee that the United States must honor the “imperfect- arms-control agreement” with Iran that Trump has vowed to dismantle because “when America gives her word, we have to live up to it and work with our allies.”
Retired General John Kelly is Trump’s controversial nominee to head Homeland Security. He was questioned about building Trump’s great wall. Although Trump continues to seek funding for a project which will cost the American people billions of dollars and be totally ineffective, Kelly said that “a physical barrier in and of itself will not do the job.”
Trump believes that climate change is a hoax created by China. His controversial nominee for Secretary of State, Exxon-Mobile CEO Rex Tillerson, disagrees with Trump. He believes that America must “maintain its seat at the table on the conversations around how to address the threats of climate change, which do require a global response.”
So, what does Trump believe? His entire campaign is now a proven sham, and a thoughtful plan for the future of our nation is obviously non-existent.
This is what you can expect from the least-qualified president-elect in history who lacks any form of moral character. His speeches to his followers were nothing more than false campaign promises; he simply told them what they wanted to hear by creating an atmosphere of hatred.
Trump will never be my president, and he should not be yours; we, the American people, deserve much better.
